'A peal of "belles" ', commedietta in one act. No details of licence noted on script, but LCO Day Book Add. 52703 records date of licence as 11 June 1863 for performance at the Bijou ‘Taken from the French of M. P. Dumanoir's Les femmes terribles (Paris, 1858)' written under title. MS written in more than one hand. Corrections added in pencil and ink. Includes some paste-ins. LCO Day Book Add. 52703 records the stipulation that performances of this play for The Polish Fund are allowed at the licensed theatre and no other. No attribution given in Nicoll. Dumanoir's French original licensed for the St. James's in May 1860, for which see Add. 52992 O.
