'The detective; or, A ticket of leave', (altered from 'The detective; or, A ticket of leave’s career. A drama of everyday life'), drama in four acts by C. H. Hazlewood. No details of licence sent for July 1863. Stamp of Frederick Fenton and Frederick Frampton, the joint lessees and managers of the Victoria, on title pages and covers of each act. Title page of Act three gives 'The detective; or, A career of a ticket of leave' as title. Title shortened to 'The detective' for title page of Act four. LCO Day Book Add. 52703 lists date of licence as 14 July 1863 for performance at the Victoria. For other versions, see Add. 53017 P, 53022 AA, and 53023 O.
