Demonic drama in four acts adapted from the poem of Goethe. Licence sent 16 October 1866 for performance at Drury Lane. A letter, sent to W. B. Donne on behalf of J. B. Chatterton and dated 11 October 1866, introducing the manuscript and giving the date of intended performance as 20 October 1866, on folio1. The letter contains the stamp of the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Nicoll gives the full title as 'Faust, or, The fate of Margaret' and notes that the music was arranged by J. H. Tully. The play was also published by Lacy's (vol 83).
