Papers relating to Jellicoe’s dismissal from the post of First Sea Lord include: Jellicoe’s own account of leaving the Admiralty; the original letter of dismissal from Sir Eric Geddes; farewell telegrams sent by Jellicoe upon leaving and replies received; and a letter from the other sea lords stating their position on the matter.
Letters to his parents relate to Jellicoe’s survival of the sinking of the HMS Victoria, 1893. Also includes telegrams relating to Jellicoe being shot through the lung, 1910.
