HOLKHAM HALL MSS. Vol. XIX (formerly Holkham MS. 414). FOUR HUNDRED INSCRIPTIONS in Latin and three in Greek, of which twenty-two are duplicates, collected by Salvatore Valvasone of Maniago in the Friuli, mostly relating to the Friuli and adjoining districts; mid 16th cent., with later additions, 1560, 1564. Fair copy with autograph corrections (see f. 11b). Preceded (f. 1) by a letter of Theodor Mommsen to C. W. James, Lord Leicester's librarian, 22 Jan. 1876. Depends in part on earlier manuscript collections, in some cases going back to Feliciano. Another version of this collection, the Schedae Mutinenses, was used by Muratori and seen by Mommsen at Modena. Seen by Mommsen after Part 1 of vol. 5 was in print, and used in subsequent parts.
