(a) 'Memorandum upon the Defence of the Coast of England, and more particularly of that between Harwich and Portsmouth'. ff. 3-15b;- (b) 'Proposed Arrangement for the Militia of Great Britain'. ff. 16-18b;- (c) 'MAP OF ENGLAND [and Wales] to accompany a memorandum ON THE DEFENCE OF THE COUNTRY': 'Printed at the Lithographic Establishment Qua.r Mas.r Gen.ls Office, Horse Guards'; 1824. No cartographer or scale given, but approx. 1:1,175,000. No compass rose, but North at top. Notes in pen and brown and red ink. The map shows counties, military districts in colour, main and some lesser roads, major rivers, canals, the headquarters and strengths of infantry garrisons and the locations of infantry brigades, also proposed assembly stations for Yeomanry cavalry and the supplementary militia. f. 24.
