'ISTORIA del sacro concilio di Trento scritta da M. Antonio Milledonne, Secretario Venetiano.' In two books, the first of which, as the author states in his preface, treats 'sommariamente delli Concilij, che sono stati fino al presente', viz. from the 2nd century to the opening of the Council of Trent in 1545. The second book (f. 52) contains the history of the Council, 1545-1563. Antonio Milledonne was present at the closing sessions, 1562-1563, as Secretary to the two Venetian Ambassadors Nicolo da Ponte and Matteo Dandolo. He became Secretary of the Council of Ten in 1567 and d. 1588. For a notice of him and his writings see E. A. Cicogna, Delle Inscrizioni Veneziane, vi, 1853, P. 714. A French translation of the preface and book ii was published in 1870 under the title Journal du Concile de Trente by Armand Baschet, from one of the six copies preserved in the Library of St. Mark, Venice.
