'M. TULLII CICERONIS accusationum in C. Verrem liber primus' (-septimus). Inserted on f. 77 b (perhaps accidentally left blank by the scribe) is written 'Hic nihil deficit', followed by two paragraphs in a formal book-hand, the former relating to the recall of Alcibiades from exile and the latter describing his character. Colophon (f. 229 b), 'Transcripsi quam raptissime. Vale Snatsnoc' [i. e. Constans].
Vellum; ff. 229. 9 3/4 in. x 6 1/2 in. Late XV cent. Written in Italy, apparently by the same hand as nos. 18, 20. Gatherings of 10 leaves, with catchwords written at right angles to the text. Sec. fol. 'hec que'. With illuminated initials to each book and on f. 1 a border of renaissance ornament enclosing at the foot, between two griffins, a shield of arms: or, a bend gu. cotised arg., as in no. 19 above. Bound like nos. 16, 17, 19, 21. Belonged to Joseph Smith, Consul.at Venice, Bibl. Smith., p. cxiv, col. ii.
