PAPERS relating to the Hospital for superannuated soldiers and servants at Hereford called 'Coningsby's company of Old Servitors', founded by Sir Thomas Coningsby of Hampton Court, co. Heref. [d. 1625]. The papers, except the ' Form of Prayer', are printed in the appendix to An Historical Account ofthe City of Hereford, by John Price, 1796. Contents:-(a) Copy (made 17 July, 1725) of the Foundation Charter, dat. 1 July, 1617. f. 2 b) Extracts from Sir T. Coningsby's will, proved 18 Mar. 1625[6]. f. 17 ;-(c) Form of Prayer for use in the Hospital. The alteration in this form of the word 'commander' to 'governess' doubtless refers to Margaret, suo jure Viscountess Coningsby 1729-1761. f. 20b;-(d)'Rules, orders, and ordinances' of the Hospital, made in 1716 by Thomas, Baron Coningsby. f. 22. Paper; ff. 24. Quarto. 81/2 in. x 61/2 in. XVIII cent.
