'OBSERVATIONS on a Pamphlet intitled Lachrymæ Academicæ.' The pamphlet was by Patrick Duigenan, LL.D., printed in 1777, and was an attack on the conduct and capacity of the Provost of Trinity College [John Hely-Hutchinson, elected 1774], and the present anonymous MS., of which only two copies were made (f. 4 b), was written to vindicate his character and management of the College. It was prepared for the Press (f. 4 b) in Aug. [1778?] 'soon after the publication' of the pamphlet, but publication was delayed in view of legal proceedings against Dr. Duigenan, and it does not appear to have been subsequently printed. At the beginning (f. 2) is a list of contents, and at the end (f. 88) is an Appendix containing an account of numbers on the college books, of undergraduates, and of degrees conferred, from 1771 to 1779. Paper; ff. 89, Folio.. 14in.x 9 in. Circ. A.D. 1779.
