'LETTRES et Memoires de M. le Cardinal [Jules] Mazarin à M^rs [Michel] Le Tellier et [Hugues] de Lionne contenans le secret de la Negociation de la Paix des Pyrenées dans les Conferences tenues à St. Jean de Luz en 1659.' The letters, which extend from 10 July to 12 Nov. 1659 and include many from the Cardinal to the King [Louis XIV] and the Queen Mother [Anne of Austria], have been printed (some of them several times): see Lettres du Card. Mazarin rel. à la Paix des Pyrénées (1745), and cf. analysis in Avenel's Lettres du Card. Mazarin (Coll. de Doc. Inédits), tom. viii. The treaty was negotiated by Mazarin with Don Luis de Haro, the Spanish Prime Minister, its chief provision being the marriage of Louis XIV with the Infanta Maria Theresa, daughter of Philip IV, which took place in the following year.
