TRANSCRIPTS of letters and papers relating principally to the House of Hanover, many of them being addressed to the Electress Sophia, wife of Ernest Augustus, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg and (1692) Elector of Hanover; 1650-1700. French. Preceded (f. 2) by a dedicatory letter dated Hameln, 20 Feb. 1729, addressed to [Frederick Lewis,] Prince of Wales, 'Prince Electoral de Brunswick et Lunebourg', by the compiler Georges Auguste Gargan, 'Caporal des Apointés' in the regiment of Col. Zastrow, who states that he made the transcripts from the collections of his father. The letters themselves, which are not arranged in chronological or any systematic order, are, for the most part, of a complimentary or domestic nature, but a few touch upon historical matters. A list of contents is given at the end. The chief articles are as follows :-
