'IOANNIS CANDIDI iureconsulti Commentariorum Aquileiensium liber primus (-octauus)': the history of Aquileia by Giovanni Candido. Printed at Venice, 1521, with slight variations. Prefixed or appended, as in the edition, are letters from Jacobus comes Purliliarum [Jacopo di Porcia] and Gregorius Amasæus [Gregorio Amaseo] in praise of the work (ff. 1, 3), dedication (f. 8) to Card. Domenico Grimani, Patriarch of Aquileia, and commendatory verses (f. 133) by Franciscus Portius [Francesco Porzio] of Udine. A table of contents is at f. 10. Paper; ff. 133. Folio. 12 in. x 81/4 in. Early XVI cent. Mottled calf binding with royal arms. Belonged to Joseph Smith, Consul at Venice, Bibl. Smith., p. lxxxix, col. 1.
