A POLITICAL COMPENDIUM, or short dissertation upon the various forms of Government in Poland, with a dedication to 'The Equestrian Order of the Kingdom of Poland' ; translated from, or possibly intended to be translated into, Latin (see last paragraph of the dedication, f. 14 b). The name of the author, who had been for the last five years tutor to the princes of the house of Sanguzki, is not given, but a pencil note 'Rose George' on the fly-leaf (f. i) may perhaps be meant to give his name, unless it is that of a donor (?George Rose, Secretary of the Treasury, b. 1744, d. 1818). At the beginning and end are nine tables with the following titles
1. 'Chronological table of the political history of Poland'; 550-1760. f. 1.
2. Of the Kings of Poland under the three different forms of government; 550-1760. f. 2.
3. 'Of Polish liberty'; 550-1760. f 3.
4. 'Of the government of the republick of Poland.' f. 4.
5. ' Of the military establishment of Poland, according to the constitution of 1717.' f. 5.
6. 'Of the revenue', from taxes imposed, &c., by the diet in 1717. f. 140.
7. 'The foundations of the public rights of Poland', 1573-1760. f. 141.
8. 'Of the diet of the republick.' f. 142.
9. 'Of the princes of Europe contemporary with the Kings of Poland', 1350-1760. f. 143.
