'MEMOIRES sur le siege de Furnes [in West Flanders] par M. [Louis Francois de Boufflers,] le Marquis de Bouflers dans l'hyver de 1692 a 1693 ' : transcripts of documents relating chiefly to the recapture by the French, 6 Jan. 1693, of the town, which had been occupied by the English in Sept. preceding. A table of contents prefixed. Contents:-
1. 'Relation succinte du siege de Furnes, et matieres auxquelles les lettres de M. de Boufiers a M. Desmadrid, Intendant de la Flandre Maritime, estoient relatives.' The latter part comprises six memoirs dealing respectively with Inundations (near Dixmude), Movment of Troops, Siege Material, Munitions, Commisariat, and Transport. f. 4.
2. 'Extrait des lettres ecrittes par M. le Marquis de Bouflers a M. Desmadrid relatives au siege de Furnes de 1692 a 1693' : extracts of Marshal Boufflers' letters, 18 Oct. 1692-30 Jan. 1693. Followed (f. 40) by an ' Etat des pieces ... desquelles il est fait mention ' in the letters, being copies of instructions, states, &c. f. 24.
3. ' Projet pour faire le siege de Nieuport ', presented by Boufflers after the fall of Furnes in Jan. 1693, but rejected by the King. f. 73.
4. 'Projet sur Ostende': anonymous scheme dated Dunkerque 20 Sept. 1689, never acted upon. f 77.
