'A COMPLETE COURSE of Navigation', comprising introductory rules, definitions, examples, &c., of Arithmetic (f. 2), Geometry (f. 17), Mensuration (f. 68), Trigonometry (f. 80), and Astronomy (f. 172). The actual treatise on Navigation (f. 214) is illustrated by six maps (the four continents, France and Sicily) roughly drawn in Indian-ink. At the end (f. 289) is a short treatise on Gunnery. Three drawings (a castle, f. 16; a boy, f. 171; a ruin, f. 244) having no apparent connexion with the text are added.
Paper; ff. 294. Folio. 143/4 in. x 9 1/4 in. Late XVIII cent. Written in an unformed hand, possibly that of a naval cadet. Sprinkled calf binding.
