POEMS of Count Lorenzo Magalotti, of Florence (d. 1712), viz.:-
1. La Donna Imaginaria, in 15 canzoni; preceded (f. 1) by the poet's letter to Paolo Falconieri, at Rome, dated 'Firenze, 5 Feb. 1690'. Printed, with the letter, at Florence in 1762. f. 8.
2. 'Il Sidro, poema in due Canti di Giovanni Filips tradotto dall' Inglese in Toscano.' A translation of the poem Cyder, 1708, by John Philips; preceded by a short account of the author (d. 1709). For another copy see Lansdowne MS. 1045, f. 106. Printed at Florence in 1749. f. 122. Paper; ff. 161. Folio. 113/4 in. x 8 in. XVIII cent. Half-bound with paper sides and blue tooled morocco back, lettered 'Canzoni del Conte Megalotti'; marbled end-papers. Belonged to Joseph Smith, Consul at Venice, in whose catalogue (Bibl. Smith., 1755, p. cclxxxiv, col. i) it is described as the 'MSS. dell' Autore, posseduto dal Sig. Dottor Giuseppe dal Papa'. For another MS. of Magalotti see no. 289.
