THE STATUTES and Ordinances of the most noble Order of St. George, named the Garter, reformed, explained, declared and renewed by the most high, most excellent and most puissant prince Henry the 8th', &c. Preceded (f 2) by the names of the first founders' in 1348, and followed (f. 22b) by the Oath, and by some additional enactments of Philip and Mary and of Elizabeth, the last five being described as Certain chapters not yet registred into ye book of statutes of the most noble order of ye Garter'. In the wording of the oath, and in the absence of a formula for investing with the George, the MS. agrees with Harley MS. 1356 and differs from Harley MSS. 3451, 4607. Paper; ff. 26. Quarto. 10 in. x 63/4 in. End of XVII or beg. of XVIII cent. Half-bound in morocco, dark blue sides.
