SHERBORN BEQUEST. Vol. I. 'Lettres de sentence', or decree of judgement in the Grand Council of Malines, by Philip II of Spain in favour of Marie Christine d'Egmond, widow of Oudart de Bournonville, Comte de Hénin-Liétard (d. 28 Dec. 1585), in the action of 'retrait lignager' brought by her late husband for the redemption of the family estate of Nédonchel in the Boulonnais and the forest of Papinhoudt in Artois which had been sold to Isabeau de Villegas; Malines, 24 Dec. 1586. French. with Great Seal. Vellum. ff. v + 18. 340 mm. x 250 mm. A.D. 1586. Pencil annotations on the front cover (f. 1) include '24 Dre 1586'. Exhibited in the Armada Exhibition, Drury Lane, 1888 (cf. f. ib). Prefixed (f. iii) is a letter of George Frederic Warner (knt. 1911), of the Department of MSS. (Keeper of MSS., 1904), 7 July 1892.
