EIGHT diaries of J. Wilkes, from the day of his release from the King's Bench, 17 April, 1770 to 31 October, 1797, four weeks before his death. The greater part of no. 5, 24 July, 1779-21 July, 1782, and all no. 7, 1 Jan. 1789 -31 Aug. 1793, are wanting. There are however rough memoranda for the later years, and at the end (ff. 238 b-248) is part of no. 5 containing an account of the Gordon riots from 31 May to 28 June, 1780. Paper; ff. 248. Octavo.
