TRANSCRIPTS Of political papers, letters, treatises and poems, chiefly relating to the times of James I. and Charles l., with a few original papers. Several of the documents relate to Francis Fane, 1st Earl of Westmoreland, in his connection with co. Northampton, 1616-1663. The principal contents are:-
1. " Fees due to the Kings servants " on the creation of Francis Fane as Baron Burghersh and Earl of Westmoreland, 29 Dec. 1624. With the original list of fees, signed by William Segar, Garter. ff. 2 b, 3.
2. Warrant of James I., appointing Sir Francis Fane and others Commissioners for preservation of His Majesty's " games of hares, phesants, partriges, ducks and other foules," in cos. Northampton, Huntingdon, and Rutland; 27 Nov. a 18 [1620]. f. 6.
