Letter (mutilated) from Vincent Skynner to Lord Treasurer Burghley, describing in detail the method formerly employed by the Clerks of the Pells in entering the Bills of the Tellers of the Exchequer, and complaining of the new method introduced by Edward Wardour, the present Clerk; n. d. Signed. Endorsed by Burghley " 16 May, 1595. Vine. Skynnars second wrytyng." f. 132.
2. " The particular chardges of Sir Henry Vnton, Knight, sent from her Majestie as her Am vppon speciall service vnto the French King"; 18 Dec. 1595-31 Jan. 1596. Signed by Unton. With note, "mak an ordre to pay this. W. Burghley." f. 134.

Mandate from the Queen to the Privy Council to can upon certain gentlemen " to provide echo of them certaine light horse agreable to the nomber expressed, and to send everie man his nomber vnto Chester or Bristowe as shalbe appointed" for service in Ireland; Greenwich, 27 June, 1600. With note, " this agreeth with the originall. Ro. Ceeyll " (see, under date 20 June, in Calendar of State Papers, 1598-1601). f. 135.

Sir Robert Long, Bart., Auditor of the Exchequer, to his servant, Burges, on official business, followed by instructions for precautions against the plague: " ... lett every one take every morning a little london treacle, or the kernell of a walnutt with 5 leaves of rue and a grayne of salt beaten together and rosted in a figg and soe eaten, and never stirre out fasting"; 5 July, 1665. f. 136.
5. [Roger Boyle, 1st Earl of] Orrery, to Sir Robert Southwell, on the fall of Danby, and other political affairs; Castlemartyr, 4, 8 April, 1679. ff. 138, 140.
6. Mary Holms to - Ives, on a mystical vision of Christ seen by [John] Mason, who " will prove the Prophet of the age "; 29 April, 1694. f. 142. Followed (f. 143) by a hymn 'beg. " Now comes ye jud[g]e yt ends ye strife ", in Mary Holms's hand.
7. " W. C." to - Mellefont, on the above Mason and his disciples, who " sing and dance like anticks allwayes, takeing theire turnes," and " are expecting an end of the world, that they that are upon the holly ground at Stratford will be safe and all the rest destroyed," etc.; 20 May, 1694. Endorsed by Sir Edward Southwell, "From Mr. Mellefont about y Mad Parson." f. 144. Followed (ff. 146, 148) by several hymns, probably of the same sect.
