Sir Robert Long, Bart., Auditor of the Exchequer, to his servant, Burges, on official business, followed by instructions for precautions against the plague: " ... lett every one take every morning a little london treacle, or the kernell of a walnutt with 5 leaves of rue and a grayne of salt beaten together and rosted in a figg and soe eaten, and never stirre out fasting"; 5 July, 1665. f. 136.

6. Mary Holms to - Ives, on a mystical vision of Christ seen by [John] Mason, who " will prove the Prophet of the age "; 29 April, 1694. f. 142. Followed (f. 143) by a hymn 'beg. " Now comes y^e jud[g]e y^t ends y^e strife ", in Mary Holms's hand.

7. " W. C." to - Mellefont, on the above Mason and his disciples, who " sing and dance like anticks allwayes, takeing theire turnes," and " are expecting an end of the world, that they that are upon the holly ground at Stratford will be safe and all the rest destroyed," etc.; 20 May, 1694.
