MUSTER-ROLL of a company of French soldiers in the service of James II., taken, before leaving France, 1 Jan. 1690; followed by the captain's accompts with his men for clothing, etc., down to 24 June. Fr. The company was at Cork on 1 April, and thence proceeded to Kilkenny and Dublin. The volume was afterwards used, at the reverse encl (ff. 44-67), by George Fry, king's messenger, for the accompts of his expenses, at first in Ireland, at the orders of George Clarke, Secretary at War, 12 Nov. 1690-26 July, 1691, and subsequently, down to Feb. 1698, chiefly at the orders of the Secretaries of State, in attending on the King [William III.] at home and abroad, in executing warrants and keeping prisoners, and in commissions of all kinds.
