Preceded and followed (ff. 1-7, 20-52) by copies of warrants, and correspondence of John St. John, 2nd Baron St. John of Bletsoe, Lord Lieutenant of the County, with the Council, Sir Henry Cromwell, and others on the same business ; May, 1588-April, 1589. At f. 38 b is " The Humble protestacion " of Sir Thomas Tresham, " now prysoner in the pallace of Elye," of his allegiance to the Queen, 22 Oct. 1588 ; and at the end (f. 52 b) is a genealogical note relating to Margaret Douglas, wife of Matthew Stuart, 4th Earl of Lennox.
