3. Rough catalogue, with occasional extracts, of "the bundles of letters to and from Sir Edw. Nicholas"; 1641-1669. f. 147.
4. "Extracts from a MS. of Sir Edw. Nicholas concerning an History of the Long Parliament." f. 181. A note on f. 1 states that the extracts were taken "from the originals lately in the possession of his grandson, William Nicholas, Esq., and now in that of Sir John Evelyn, Bart." A large proportion of the original letters referred to tinder art. 3 are included among the Nicholas Papers, Egerton MSS. 2533-2562. A few marginal notes by Philip Yorke, 2nd Earl of Hardwicke, are interspersed. The volume is a transcript from Add. MS. 4180, which is in the hand of Dr. Thomas Birch. Paper; ff. 188. XVIIIth cent.
