CHARTULARY Of the abbey of Cockersand, co. Lanc. : a transcript made by Christopher Towneley in 1661, from the, original (compiled in 1268) in the possession of Robert Dalton, of Thurnham. Latin. The preface begins: "In hoc volumine continentur omnia feoffamenta nostra penes nos reperta anno Domini millesimo ducentesimo sexagesimo septimo, qaæ scripta sunt et ordinata a fratre Roberto de Lacheford qui presens volumen tam pro vtitilate iuniorum instrumenta ignorantium quam difficultate ea quærentium quæ sepius eveniunt, armariolo assignavit." At the end (f. 255 b) is a transcript of 1etterspatent of Henry VIII. protecting the abbey from suppression 19 Dec. a° 28 [1536]. Paper; ff. 265. Folio.
