LITERARY correspondence and papers of Edward Lye, time Vicar of Little Houghton, and afterwards Rector of Hastings, co. Northampton, author of the "Dictionarium Saxonico et Gothico-Latinum," etc.; 1729-1767. A note at the beginning by Bishop Percy states that the collection was left to him by Lye. At the end are some letters addressed to Bishop Percy in reference to Lye and his Dictionary, 1769-1772; and papers relating to Lye's biography, including memoranda for his Life by Percy (f. 257), and specimen sheets of the Dictionary.
