PAPERS relating to prisons, convicts, the police of London, etc., being official documents connected with the Home Office, chiefly during the time when Thomas, Lord Pelham, afterwards 2nd Earl of Chichester, was Secretary; 1796-1803. At f. 40 is a memorial by Jeremy Bentham, relative to the site of the proposed penitentiary, with his signature and memoranda in pencil; 1800. At the end, f. 188, are a few papers concerning the Duchy of Lancaster, of which Lord Pelham was Chancellor, 1772-1804 ; and, f. 203, a memorandum of Acts of Parliament concerning the Duchy of Cornwall, 1267- 1793.
