ff. 11, 21. Two sacred compositions, in score. 1. ‘Libera me, Domine, de morte’; consisting of 5-part choruses interspersed with solos, by Dr. Arne, 1770. The concluding chorus appears to have been sung as a quintet [? at the Portuguese Chapel], the names Swiney (superius), Fitz (altus), Lanza (contra-tenor), Guichd. (tenor), and Novello (bassus) being written in pencil at the beginning, f. 11.2. 'Salve, Regina, mater misericordiæ‘: motet for alto, tenor, and bass (figured), by ‘S. ff. 23, 25. Two Anthems for counter-tenor, tenor, and bass, in score, by Samuel Wesley, sc. (1) 'This shall be my Rest for ever' (Ps. 132). '4 July, 1800.' f. 23;— (2) 'Behold how good and joyful a Thing.' 'Composed for the Installation of the R. W. G. M., May 12, 1813.' f. 25. Autograph.
f. 24b. 'The Macedon youth left behind him this truth': beginning of a Duet for alto and tenor, with a bass(?), in the hand of Samuel Wesley, and probably his own composition. About 1800 (see f. 24). Possibly the bottom line was intended for the 3rd voice in a trio.
