3. "A Discourse of the late troubles happend in Scotland between the Queen's Matie and the King her husband and certain of the Nobility"; 9 March, 1565[6]. "Written by Secretary Cecil's hand as follows, vizt: This discourse was written by the Lord Ruthen, the Principall Undertaker of the slaughter of David Rucio, Italian Secretary to the Queen of Scots, with whome she was suspected. This he wrote, being sick, not long before his death, having no hope of life. He died at Newcastle in England, 1565[6]." ff. 134-149.
