Italian, Spanish, Latin, and French. An 18th-cent. MS. from a different set of MSS. Old shelfmark '373' written in pencil by a later hand in top margin of f. 1.

1. ff. 1-162. Letters of Cardinal Mazarin and Ondedei; 7 Jan. - Dec. 1650. Inc. 'Lettere di genaro 1650 del Signor Cardinale Mazzarino / Al Signor Marchese Villa / Resta Sua Maestà intieramente sodisfatta dell'esattezza', expl. 'mentre La prego dal Signore Iddio ogni più compito contento / Il fine delle lettere del Signor Cardinal Mazzarino dell'anno 1650'. Including two speeches by Mazarin (ff. 19-20, 55-60v), and two letters of correspondence (ff. 103v-104) between Archduke Leopold of Austria and Duke Gastone d'Orleans. The letters are divided by months. Letters and texts relating to 1650 published by Morbio in Epistolario..., op. cit., pp. 1-275, Appendice, 314-320, 329-379.
2. ff. 4-4v, 6-19, 46v-50. Three letters of Louis XIV; [7] Jan. - 10 Apr. 1650. Inc. (f. 4) 'Lettera del Re al Signor Principe Tomaso di Savoia tradotta in Italiano / Havendo veduto dalla lettera' (incomplete); inc. (f. 6) 'Lettera del Re al Parlamento di Parigi sopra la prigionia de Signori Principi di Conde, e di Conty, e Duca di Longavilla / Nostri amatissimi, e fedeli. La risoluzione che siamo stati sforzati a prendere ... Datum in Parigi li 19 genaro 1650'; inc. (f. 46v) 'Minuta di lettera del Re al Papa / Io credevo che Vostra Santità dovesse essere ben persuasa dell'affetto che io porto alli Barberini ... Di Digiuno li x aprile 1650'. 4. ff. 164-173v. Letters of Cardinal Mazarin and Ondedei; 6 Jan. - 3 Feb. 1651. Italian and French. Inc. 'Lettere del Signor Cardinal Mazzarino di genaro 1651 / Le scuse, che Vostra Eminenza si compiace portarmi', expl. 'e montrer que aux qui m'ont attaque n'en veulent qu'a mà persone; C'est Madame Jule Cardinale Mazzarin'. The letters are divided by months.
Paper; ff. 172+ii, plus two unfoliated interleaved leaves after f. 4. Modern foliation in pencil '1-173' (followed here), omitting no. 36. 271 x 183mm. Hand d, signed 'Laurentius Rugas' (f. 173v), datable 18th cent. Egdes mottled in red.
