"LIBER Chronicorum Villariensium:" a history of the Cistercian abbey of Villers, in Brabant, from its foundation in 1147 to 1666. It is divided into three books, viz. :-1. "de origine Monasterii et de Abbatibus," f. 5; 2. "de Gestis Viroum Illustrium Villariensium," f.66, b; 3. "deConversisVillar. sanctitate recipuis" f. 84, b. The history was apparently begun in the time of the 11th abbat, Guillaume de Bruxelles [1221-1236]. It is printed in the "Thesaurus novus Aneedotorucm" of Marténe and Durand (Par. 1717, pp. 1269 seqq.), down to the time of the 41st abbat, Franco Calaber [1460-1485], but with considerable variations from the MS. At tho end, f. 106, is "Laus Villariensis Coenobii," being an extract from the "Gallo-Brabantia" of Jean Baptiste Gramaye. Paper; xviith cent. In old leather binding, stamped with the arms of Jean B. T. de Jonghe. Small Quarto.
