EVELYN PAPERS. Vol. CLXV. `Adversaria'; [after 1680?]. Autograph. Partly Latin. Commonplace book, with subject headings in the margins. The notes have been entered in several sections with many blank pages between, but the sections are unheaded, except for the last, headed `Sententiae & Fragmenta'. The entries in all are wide-ranging, and include theology, ethics, and excerpts from classical literature. This may be the `Philologic. Adversar.' referred to in Add. MS 78328 above. The handwriting suggests that the volume was kept up in Evelyn's later years. Beal EvJ 27. Formerly Evelyn MS 36.
