I- Robert Merrett, eldest son of Christopher Merret al. Merrett, M.D.: Two letters to Sir Charles Kemeys, 3rd Bart., at Ruperra; 12, 28 August 1690. The letters relate mostly to literary matters. The first refers to translations by the writer of two works, including Consultation de l’oracle par les puissances de la terre (1688) a tract on the birth of the Old Pretender, and requesting return of an unpublished manuscript translation of a satire of Horace by the poet and dramatist Henry Higden, a contemporary of Merrett’s at the Middle Temple. Purchased from J. L. M. Gulley, March 2002.
