Vellum, in three volumes folio, ff. 373, 178, and 314, xv. Cent. Each volume is mutilated, many of the illuminated initial letters and paintings having been cut out. Arms, apparently those of France and England quarterly, have been emblazoned in the first leaf of the second volume; the crest, cap of maintenance and helet still remain. The ostrich feathers of the Prince of Wales with the motto "Pour elle" occur on several parts of the margin. the Ms. has probably belonged to Prince Arthur. "Les Croniques DangLeterre " de Jellan Froissart, Livres 1. 11. III. The language of this Ms. varies, in some parts very considerably, from that of the edition published by Buchon at Paris in 1824. The division into chapters, and the rubrics are also different. Volume I.
1. The first book of the Chronicles, in 127 chapters, with a table. fol. 1. Chapters 47 pt. 48. 49 pt. 101 pt. 102 pt.
106 pt. and 107 pt. are wanting.
2. Additions to the first book, in another hand, apparently part of a different Ms. fol. 358. Printed, some at greater length, by Buchon, vol. ii. pp. 498-501 and vol. iii. pp. 1-122, as chapt. 329 and Additions i-xix.
3. Continuation of the Additions to the first book, in the same hand as the body of the Ms. Printed by Buchon, vol. iii. pp. 122-161, as Additions xx-xxii and chap. 343. In Buchon's edition book i. is divided into 696 chapters. Volume II. The second book of the Chronicles. Volume III. The third book of the Chronicles.
