ff. 1r-5r: St Jerome's prologue to the Book of Job, beginning: 'Incipit praefatio Hieronimi. Cogor per singulos scripturae divinae libros'; followed by the capitula of the book of Job (ff. 3v-5r).
ff. 5v-51r: The Book of Job, beginning: 'Incipit Liber beati Iob, vir erat in terra hus nomine Iob'.
ff. 52r-54v: St Jerome's prologue to the Book of Ezra, beginning: 'Incipit praefatio Eusebii Hieronimi in Ezram. Utrum difficilius sit facere quod poscitis'.
ff. 54v-97v: The Book of Ezra, beginning: 'Incipit Liber Ezrae. In anno primo Cyri regis Persarum ut completur verbum Domini ex ore Hieremiae'.
Decoration:

Provenance:
The manuscript may have been produced in Saint-Bertin, Northern France, according to Gneuss and Lapidge, Anglo-Saxon Manuscripts (2014), p. 233.
Canterbury, Southeastern England: re-written in erased spaces, restored and edited by an English hand, of the Canterbury type, in the second half of the 10th century (ff. e.g., ff. 20r; 37v-38r; 44v), according to Gameson, 'L'Angleterre et la Flandre, (2002).
An unidentified late 11th-century owner: added three-lines of missing text in brown ink, 'deest' is specified in red, (f. 44v, lower margin).
An unidentified owner: added interlinear glosses written by 11th- and 12th-century hands (e.g, ff. 14r, 28r).
An unidentified 12th-century owner: added a 12th-century sketch of Christ on the Cross (f. 98r).
?Thomas Howard (b. 1585, d. 1646), 2nd earl of Arundel, 4th earl of Surrey, and 1st earl of Norfolk, art collector and politician.
Henry Howard (b. 1628, d. 1684), 6th duke of Norfolk: presented by him to the Royal Society in 1667.
The Royal Society, London (its ink stamp: 'Soc. Reg. Lond / ex dono HENR. HOWARD / Norfolciensis., f. 1; its book-plate with the pencil inscription: ‘XIII.3.3’, 3rd flyleaf at the beginning).
Purchased by the British Museum from the Royal Society of London together with 549 other Arundel manuscripts in 1831.
