- Title:
- Babad Sultanan utawi Mangkunĕgaran [sic, i.e. Mangkubumen?]
- Scope & Content:
-
Babad Sultanan utawi Mangkunĕgaran [sic], the latter title perhaps being a mistake for Mangkubumen. In Javanese language and script.
The text begins in the Third Javanese War of Succession, c. 1749, and breaks off at the end apparently c. 1754.
A note which is partially glued down to the cover reads, punika sĕratanipun Kangjĕng Sultan Sĕpuh [Hamĕngkubuwana II].
Perhaps this was indeed written by Hamĕngkubuwana II. who is believed also to be the author of Leiden Or 2191, Babad Mangkubumi, which begins in 1755 (see Ricklefs, 1971).
In verse; 160 cantos.
