- Title:
- Copy of the Bugis diary of the Sultan of Bone, 1775-1795
- Scope & Content:
-
Part of a series of Bugis diaries from the court of Bone, Add. 12354-7. Inscribed on f. 95r in pencil by Crawfurd: 'Personal Diary of the Rajah of Boni'.
Buginese diary of Sultan Ahmad al-Salih of Bone, running from A.D. 1775 to 1795; a copy.
From the fact that there are no blank spaces between the dates and no blank leaves between the years, one may conclude that this MS is a copy of Add. 12354. On the whole the notes of Add. 12354 and Add. 12356 are identical, although there are a few slight differences. There is a gap between ff. 2v. and 3r., so diary notes for April to mid-Sept. 1775 are lacking.
The MS is neatly written in a single hand. See Matthes, 1875, p. 93. (This description from Dr. A. A. Cense.)
