Diary running from Jan. 1793 to Dec. 1799 (a further year, presumably 1800, is filled in but without the year stated). The diarist must have been a person living in the immediate vicinity of the king of Bone. He reports upon meetings of the members of the high State College, and on events in the wars in which Bone was involved. He makes further notes about happenings at the court or in the surroundings of the palace, e.g. visits, cases of running amuck, etc. Among the diary notes are found the following items: 10 April 1793, the king goes to his benteng (fortification); 24 Jan. 1795, the Ponggawa Bajo (chief of the Bajo seanomads) together with his lolo (subchief) appear at court to pay homage to the king and to bring their kasiwiang (tribute) of money, talibo (a kind of shellfish) and fish. Other notes in the MS include: Messages of Tanete and Sidenreng in answer to messages sent by the Arumpone (f. 2r). Words which have been agreed between the state councils of Bone, Soppeng, and Luwu' and the Arumpone of Bone, the Datu of Soppeng, and the Datu of Luwu' (f. 16r). Salli (usallī) formulae (f. 15v). Notes on auspicious and inauspicious months (ff. 2v.-3r., 94r). On auspicious and inauspicious days, according to what happened on those days to Hawa (Eve), Shu'sib, Pir'swn (Pharaoh), and others (f. 28v). Notes on the years of the eight-year cycle (f. 93v). Various Buginese tolo' poems, that on f. 52v. being a sitta'-sittakkĕng (ff. 48v., 49v.-50r., 51 v., 52v., 69v., 81v., 82v). Buginese poem in La Galigo metre (ff. 46v.-47r.). Tolo' poems made by Arung Palakka, those on ff. 84v.-85r., 86v.-87r. being sitta’-sittahkĕng (ff. 57v.-60v., 61v., 62v., 84v.-85r., 86v.-87r). Buginese war songs (ff. 55v.-56r., 69v). Between ff. 32 and 33 is a cut-out piece of paper in the shape of a lotus bud.
Floral decoration in black ink on f. 76v.
Binding: full brown leather European binding, with stamped corner pieces and medallion in emulation of the Islamic style.
