A. 'The Demerara River from its mouth to the Malali Falls'; circa 1900. Scale [1:46600]. Scale bar of 5 English miles (= 173mm.) Map oriented with South at the top. The map shows the river and its tributary creeks in detail as far inland as the Malali Falls. Hills and settlements immediately adjacent to the river are named and marked. Georgetown is indicated by a shaded and hatched rectangle at the mouth of the river. Twenty miles inland on the east bank of the river there is an estate marked in pink and labelled 'Veerenaghore', with a further slashed line with pink shading marked about one and a half miles to the south indicating another estate boundary. Veerenaghore is the only estate so marked, and it seems likely that the draftsman responsible added the estate to a map otherwise restricted to the river and its tributaries to give the map a personal context.
