OCR-generated record (may contain errors) from A Catalogue of the Harleian Manuscripts in the British Museum, 4 vols (London, Eyre and Strahan, 1808-1812), I (1808):
A Book fairly written upon Velom, and bound in Blew Velvet; whereof both the Leaves and the Cover are indented, it being an
Indenture Qudripartite, made between K. Henry VII. (20 Novemb. anno regni sui 20) The Abbat and Convent of Westminster, The Abbat and Convent of St. Albans, and the Mayor and Cominalty of London concerning the holding a solemn Anniverfaty in the Church of St. Alban, for ever, and praying there for the King, the Royal Family, and the Realm.
The Book was formerly under Seal; but the Seal is now lost, tho' part of the Silken String remains. At the Tops of all the Leaves (except the two last) are part of three Letters, the other Parts of them being in the Counterpart of the same Indenture. These Letters make no Sentence or Word (as is usual in such Cafes) but only go thro' the Alphabet twice, excepting W which is omitted, instead of which & is added to Z.
At the Beginning, that Kings Armes and Badges, are curiously illuminated.
