ff. 3r-37v: Gerald of Wales, Itinerarium Kambriae; translated into English and written by John Stow [Stowe] in 1575.
ff. 38r-62v: Gerald of Wales, Topographia Hiberniae; translated into English and written by John Stow [Stowe] in 1575.
ff. 63r-119v: Gerald of Wales, Expugnatio Hibernica; translated into English and written by John Stow [Stowe] in 1576.

The manuscript contains two addition:
ff. 130r-130v: An end-leaf from a medieval manuscript, containing a fragment of Anselm of Canterbury, Orationes sive Meditationes (Oratio LXXII); written in the 15th century.
f. 1*recto: A title-page ‘Silvester Giraldus Cambrensis his Itinerarie of Wales & Descripton of Wales in English [...] written by John Stowe [...] with his owne hand Anno Domino [sic] 1575’; added by Sir Simonds D’Ewes.

John Stow [Stowe] ( b. 1524/5, d. 1605)), chronicler and antiquary: translated and written by him in 1575 and 1576 according to colophons on ff. 62v, 37v, 119v (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 319).
Sir Simonds D’Ewes (b. 1602, d. 1650), 1st baronet, diarist, antiquary, and friend of Sir Robert Cotton (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 131): added a title-page to 1*recto; recorded in his catalogues as B.145.
Sir Simonds D’Ewes (d. 1722), 3rd baronet and grandson of the former: inherited and later sold the D’Ewes library to Robert Harley on 4 October 1705 for £450.
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d. 1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
