Decoration:
Large (6-line) historiated initial in blue with King Henry III in colours inside the letter, in a frame of gold, and with a full foliate border with acanthus leaves and feathering in blue, gold, green, and purple (f. 122r). Large (3- or 4-line) puzzle initials in blue and red or coloured initials in blue or red with pen-flourishing in both colours forming a three-sided border (ff. 2r, 12v, 36v [with purple]). Added marginal drawings of a dragon or serpent (f. 269r); a crown (f. 294r); a rose (f. 297r); a hand holding a stick (f. 307r); a dog chasing an unidentifiable animal (f. 307v); a cat in a pan (f. 309r).

An unknown owner: their erased inscriptions on ff. 74r and 309v.
'John Holywell', 16th century: his ownership inscription on f. 311r: 'John Holywell haves thys bock' (not in Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972)).
Thomas Muschamp of Peckham, Surrey, owned in the late 15th century: his ownership inscription on f. 2r and f. 309v: 'Iste liber constat Thome [...]'; records of the births of members of this family (1471-1530) are on ff. 310r-310v and 311v; his memorandum on f. 1v (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 248).
? William Muschamp of Peckham, Surrey, owned in 1531: his draft indentures inscribed on f. 290v (not in Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972)).
Edward Muschamp, in 1553: inscribed with his name and this year on f. 312v: 'Edwarde Muschampe 1553'; his ownership inscription on f. 290r: 'Edwardus Muschamp ys honor of thys boke' (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 248).
Mr Noble, early 18th century: Humfrey Wanley, librarian to Robert and Edward Harley, inscribed on f. [iv]recto: 'Bought from Mr Noble' (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 253).
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d. 1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
