Sermons. Marginal notes in Latin are in a number of hands, principally that of the main scribe. One English note (f. 1v) is in the hand of a reader. Frequent underlining within the text, probably by the scribe, highlights quotations and important names.

1. (ff. 1r-2r): First Sunday in Advent (title added by John Covel; see A Catalogue of the Harleian Manuscripts 1808, vol. II, p. 573). Incipit: 'Worshipfull ffrendis this day begynneth þe Advent and it is called the first Sonday of Advent and gracious commyng of oure sovereyne Criste Ihesu'.

2. (ff. 2r-3v): First Sunday in Advent. Heading (f. 2r): 'Item dominica Prima Adventus domini'. Incipit (f. 2r): 'Now begynneth Holy Chirch to make mynde & mencioun of þe commyng of oure sovereyne saviour crist Ihesu in to þis worlde'.

3. (ff. 4r-5v): First Sunday in Advent. Heading (f. 3v): 'Item de Adventu Cristi'. Incipit (f. 4r): 'Worshipfull ffrenedis this day is callid þe first Sonday of Advent of criste þat is to [see the] sonday of cristis comyng'. Correction is inserted above the line by a medieval hand, likely the same person (possibly the scribe) who underlined within the text.

4. (ff. 5v-7r): On the Second Coming, for Advent. Heading (f. 5v): 'Item de Adventu christi ad iudicium'. Incipit (f. 5v): 'The second commyng of criste to þe dome shall be full egir and cruell þat before þat dredefull day of dome shall be shewid xv. tokens of drede'.
