ff. 2*r-195v: A collection of 69 sermons in Latin, from the first Sunday of Advent to Pentecost.
ff. 196r-196v: A table of contents in a 14th-century hand, listing the sermons contained in the manuscript with detail added in a later hand and the folio reference in yet another hand.
The manuscript contains a few additions:
f. 1*recto: Latin and Middle English notes, e.g.: 'Heyl Lord Luffen for Love'; written in the (?) 13th century.
f .1*verso: Two Latin notes on paper pastedowns; written in the (?) 15th century.
f. 196v: A Latin note by Robert Burscough, referring to the Archdeacon of Totnes and a monk named ‘Guilelmus Maulius’.

Provenance:
Robert Burscough (b. 1651, d. 1709), Archdeacon of Barnstaple: purchased of him for the Harley collection on 17 May 1715 (f. 2*r); inscribed with his name (f. 196v).
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724 ), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d.1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts forms one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
