ff. 2r-458r: Bible with prologue and interpretation of Hebrew names (ff. 426r-458r).
The manuscript contains various additions:
ff. 459r-460v: Lections for liturgical feasts; added in the 14th century.
ff. 460v-461r: A text on the life of Secundus the Silent (fl. 2nd century), beginning: '[S]ecundus fuit philosophus hic philosophatus est omni tempore silencium et pitagoriam ducens vitam'.
ff. 461r-461v: Theological notes; added in the 14th century.
ff. 462r-462v: A previously unidentified sermon by John Halgren of Abbeville (d. 1237), beginning: '[C]um sacrosancta mater Ecclesia non sine certarum causa rationum premonsrante spiritu sacre scripture'; added in the 14th century.
Decoration:
3 large zoomorphic initial in colours (ff. 2r, 4v, 210r). Puzzle initials in red and blue with pen-flourishing in the same colours, some large, some mid-size. Smaller initials in blue with red pen-flourishing and in blue with red pen-flourishing. Rubrics in red.

Foliation: ff. 463 (+ 1 unfoliated paper flyleaf and 1 unfoliated parchment flyleaf at the beginning + 1 unfoliated parchment flyleaf and 1 unfoliated paper flyleaf at the end); ff. 1 and 436 are parchment leaves that originally served as flyleaves; 1 unfoliated parchment stub after f. 457.

Provenance:
Henricis Cellis, mayor of Saint-Trond (Sint-Truiden), Belgium: his ownership inscription on f. 1v: 'Liber fratrum sancte crucis conventus Leodiensis, quem legavit eis Henricus Cellis civis oppidi sancti trudonis et burgimagister ibidem, Anno Domini 1483' (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 99).
The convent of Crutched Friars, Liège, Belgium: an inscription recording the bequest of the manuscript to the convent in 1483 by Henricus Cellis on f. 1v (see above), and its ownership inscription on f. 463v: 'Biblia fratrum cruceferorum conventus Leodiensis' (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 223).
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d. 1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
