This composite prayer book consists of four parts (ff. 1-30, 31-55, 56-59, 60-70) that were produced separately by different scribes. The style of decoration of the second part suggest that the whole manuscript originates from Germany or the Low Countries.
Contents:
ff. 1r-26r: The Fifteen Oes, here attributed to St Bridget of Sweden in a short rubric: 'Oraciones XV Sancte brigitte'.
ff. 26r-27r: 'Domine iesu Christe fili dei vivi per merita gloriosissime virginis marie dulcissime matris tue suscipe hanc oracionem'.
ff. 27r-28r: Prayer ('Collecta') to Christ, beginning: 'Omnipotens sempiterne deus qui humanum genus in quinque vulneribus fili tui domini nostri Jesu Christi benedicti redimere dignatus es'
ff. 28r-29r: Prayer to Christ ('Collecta ad filium per matrem'), beginning: 'Domine Jesu Christe fili dei vivi ad honorem, venerationem, et gloriam tremende passionis vulnerationis et mortis tue'.
ff. 29r-30v: Prayer to the Virgin Mary ('Ad virginem mariam'), beginning: 'O dulcissima virgo maria ego famulus tuus licet indignus'.
f. 30v: Prayer for the Elevation ('In elevacione corporis Christi'), beginning: 'Anima Christi sanctifica me'; imperfect due to the loss of folios.
ff. 31r-31v: Psalm 112-113.
ff. 32r-47v: The Hours of the Virgin, with the rubric: 'Incipiunt hore gloriosissime deo genitrices marie ad matutinas eiusdem'.
ff. 47v-50r The Seven Penitential Psalms.
ff. 50r-55v: Litany of Saints, followed by 'Preces minores' and 'Preces maiores'.
ff. 56r-59r: Prayer to Christ, entitled: 'Oratio pia atque devota', beginning: 'Domine si vis potes me mundare'.
f. 59v: 'Verba magne agonizanti in aurem suggerenda'.
ff. 60r-70v: 'Oraciones ante celebrationem misse', and other prayers.

Provenance:
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724 ), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d.1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts forms one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
