ff. 6v-44v: Ephrem the Syrian, Six sermons ('books'), including De compunctione cordis (ff. 6v-13r); De judicio dei et resurrectione et de regno celorum et mundicia animae (ff. 13r-16v); De beatitudine anime (ff. 16v-19r); De penitentia (ff. 19r-22r); De luctaminibus huius seculi (ff. 22r-40r); De die iudicii (ff. 40r-44v).
ff. 44v-58v: Unknown author, De Humilitate vel opera ['ofe'] monachorum, beginning: 'Ammonendus est monachus ut reverentiam abitus sui in actu. in locutione. in cogitatione sua semper circumspiciat atque ea quae mundi sunt perfecte deserat.
ff. 58v-62v: Pseudo-Gregory the Great (here attributed), Tractatus de homeliis evangelicis beati Gregorii papae, beginning: 'Si volumus timere deum in tranquilitate'.

Provenance:
Written by the scribe Arnulfus in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of the 12th century: his colophon on f. 67r: 'libri per scriptor qui sic et constitit actor / dicutur arnulfus tribuatur ei paradisus […]'.
'Aegidius', 16th century: inscribed with his ex libris on f. 1v: 'Ex libris AEgidii Ragu[...]'.
'De Rochefleur', 16th century: inscribed with his name on f. 2r.
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d. 1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
