f. 1r: A title-inscription (vertically written in the outer margin): 'Epistole Pauli Excerpta de libris regum'.
ff. 1r-69v: Glossed Pauline Epistles, beginning with the letter Epistle to the Laodiceans and ending with the Epistle to the Hebrews.
ff. 70r-71v: A table with incipits of the Psalms with their titles and themes highlighted in different columns.
ff. 71v-77v: Excerpts from the Gospel of John.
ff. 78r-108r: Excerpts from Kings (and other biblical books) with an allegorical and moral exposition, entitled: 'Excerpta de libris regum et allegorice ac moraliter exposita'; imperfect at the end.

Materials: Parchment.
Dimensions: 215 x 155 mm (text space: 160 x 80 mm; with ff. 78-107 in 2 columns).
Foliation: ff. 108 (+ 5 unfoliated paper flyleaves at the beginning + 4 at the end); f. 108 is a fragmentary parchment leaf (no loss of text) that has been repaired with blank parchment; a paper pastedown with binding instructions ('Librorum Sacrorum Expositiones. Calf.') on f. [iii]recto.
Collation: Indicated by a few quire marks (ff. 85v, 105v); each quire has been separately mounted onto a paper guard.
Script: Protogothic.
Binding: British Museum in-house: Red half leather binding with the Harleian armorial bookplate gold-stamped on the outsides of the upper and lower cover. Rebound on 15 November 1965. Brown speckled leather covers with blind-stamped borders of a previous binding are pasted on the insides of the upper and lower covers.

The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d. 1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
