f. 210v: A Latin saying 'Omnibus omnia non mea sompnia discere possum' and the beginning of an indenture: 'Pateat universis per presentes Nos'; added in the early 14th century.
Decoration:
2 large (4-line and 10-line) puzzle initials in blue and red with penwork decoration and pen-flourishing in red ink (ff. 7r, 155r). Large (2- to 3-line) initials in blue or red with penwork decoration in the opposite colour. Small (1-line) plain initials in blue and red. Paraphs in blue or red. Added marginal drawings in brown ink of a lion (f. 7r), hybrid figures (ff. 7r, 8r), a rabbit (f. 9r), and a merman holding a shield and dagger (f. 11r).

Foliation: ff. 211 (+ 4 unfoliated paper flyleaves and 2 unfoliated parchment flyleaves at the beginning + 2 unfoliated parchment flyleaves and 3 unfoliated paper flyleaves at the end); 1 unfoliated parchment stub after f. 154 and 1 after f. 208; 3 unfoliated blank but ruled parchment leaves after f. 154
Collation: Indicated by catchwords; each quire has been mounted separately onto a paper guard.
Script: Gothic cursive.
Binding: British Museum in-house; red half leather binding with the Harleian arms gold stamped on the outside covers; the previous Harleian binding of blind-stamped and gold-tooled speckled brown leather has been pasted on the insides of the upper and lower covers; labels of the previous spine, gold stamped with the texts: 'Statuta Vetera' and 'Registr[um] de Cancellaria' have been pasted on the fourth unfoliated blank paper flyleaf at the beginning (f. [iv]recto); rebound in 1967.

'Kyllygrewe', 16th century: inscribed with their name on f. 39r (outer margin) and f. 210v (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 327).
Robert Thornburgh, 16th century: inscribed with his name on f. 210v (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 213).
William Hodges, 'junior', owned in 1553: according to an inscription on f. 211r, transcribed below (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 191).
John Bowyer, owned in 1553: received the manuscript from William Hodges on 16 May 1553, according to an inscription on f. 211r: 'Ex dono Wilhelmi Hodges Juniorij fact. Johanni Bowyar 16 May 1553 (see Wright, Fontes Harleiani (1972), p. 79).
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724 ), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts.
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d.1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts forms one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
